VISION
Our vision is to equip and empower the nations through love in action. Founded on the principles of Isaiah 54, we believe that spreading hope practically, helps create a better future for those in need.
Our co-founders, Michael and Christine Mesiti, were inspired by a personal promise to "Spread out! Think big!" and to provide "lots of elbow room for the growing family." As such, our vision drives our efforts to support individuals and communities to achieve their full potential.
MISSION
We believe that relationships are fundamental to all aspects of life. By building strong connections within the community, we have created supportive environments where individuals are now not just fighting to survive, but thriving.
Our strength-based approach ensures that we focus on the inherent strengths of each person, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve lasting change.
STORY
House of Hope Africa was founded by Michael and Christine Mesiti and has touched the hearts and lives of countless vulnerable women, children and families in impoverished communities.
Driven by their vision to bring the love of Christ to these areas in a hands-on and practical way, Michael and Christine relocated from Perth, Australia to Lusaka, Zambia in 2014. Their journey began through being invited to meet with local community elders and families, which evolved into authentic relationships and a number of community-based programs being established.
Michael and Christine's belief that relationships are the cornerstone of life has been the foundation of their work. Their deep commitment and personal touch have fostered a nurturing environment where individuals feel supported and empowered to achieve sustainable change. Their passion for making a difference shines through in every aspect of House of Hope Africa, from providing essential resources to instilling a sense of belonging and hope for a brighter future.
Today, together with their trained local teams, they carry forward this culture and DNA, ensuring that the organisation's values and mission continue to thrive and inspire.
CHANGE
Thank you for taking the time to check out House of Hope Africa. We truly believe that we are called to leave a legacy through love and House of Hope Africa is the conduit for you, us and the community to turn the mandate, “love others” into an action.
Our journey has helped us see so many people simply depleted from the struggle that has become life. Whether through poverty, sickness or family breakdowns, they have arrived at a place where there seems to be no hope and they just can’t go on.
However, what we have found is that if you help someone see that there is hope in their day, in their future and for their children – that is the only seed they need for change to begin. Talking about hope can motivate people, but House of Hope Africa’s active approach, empowers people to get up and go again and keep moving forward into all that God destines them to be… and that is why we do what we do!
